Approvals
Multi-tier sign-off for issues and docs, with groups, templates, and per-project rules.
Approvals add a structured sign-off step to your work. Use them when issues or documents need review before they're considered done.
How approvals work
An approval request moves through one or more tiers of approvers. Each request has a clear status:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Waiting on an approver |
| Approved | Signed off |
| Returned | Sent back for changes |
| Rejected | Declined |
| Withdrawn | Cancelled by the requester |
Approvals can be requested on issues and documents.
Your approvals inbox
The approvals area has two views:
- Awaiting me — requests waiting on your decision.
- My requests — approvals you've submitted and their current status.
Multi-tier means a request can require sign-off from more than one group in sequence — for example, a lead, then a manager.
Setting up approvals (admins)
Approvals are configured at the workspace level and turned on per project.
Create approval groups
Define who can approve — groups can include specific members or roles.
Build a template
Create an approval flow with one or more tiers, so the same process is reusable.
Enable it on a project
Opt a project into approvals and assign the template you want it to use.
Configuration lives under Settings → Approvals and requires the right workspace access. See Roles & permissions.
